While we are happy that Charice and Arnel Pineda are making waves worldwide making us proud of being filipinos, there are actually other celebrities in Hollywood (who are of filipino descent) that are making us proud of our heritage.
And here are some of them:
1. NICOLE SCHERZINGER. Born in Hawaii to a Filipino father and Hawaiian/Russian mother, Nicole, who is Nicole Elikolani Prescovia Valiente in real life, has always been into performing.
Nicole officially joined the then-fledgling The Pussycat Dolls in 2003. Buoyed by the success of their singles—Don't Cha, Buttons, Wait A Minute, Stickwitu and Beep—the group's popularity soared. Nicole sang majority of the group's songs and was the only one among the other members who was credited for songwriting duties.

They were married on September 29, 2001. The marriage ended in June 2002. He also composed Jennifer Lopez's song, "Alive", which was selected as the theme song for the movie Enough.The talented dancer/choreographer donated his winnings of $250,000 on I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He reportedly received $15 M from his divorce settlement with wife Jennifer.

He starred as Lance Nguyen in the blockbuster film Fast and the Furious. His last film was in the Disney hit Pirate of the Caribbean: At Worlds End . He also stars in the movie Safe.

She longed to be a singer, though she was eliminated in the initial round of the 1985 Star Search, this paved the way for her landing a role in Aloha Summer barely 17 years of age then. She got her first TV role in Air Wolf in 1985 but was best remembered for her role in the day time soap opera General Hospital as Jade Soong Chung. She made her film debut in 1991 via the action film, Harley Davidson and The Marlboro Man, but got public spotlight when she landed the role of Cassandra in the hit 1992 film Wayne’s World. Other films of Tia are: Wayne’s World 2, True Lies, Rising Sun, The Immortals, High School High, Kull the Conqueror, and . She also did some voice over in films like: Saints Row, Leroy and Stitch, Aloha, Scooby -Doo! among others.
9. APL.DE.AP. The Black Eyed Peas' singer is unmistakably Filipino, Allan Pineda Lindo or Apl.de.ap of Black Eyed Peas, has an inspiring success story that's truly worth telling. Allan was born in Sapang Bato, Angeles City, Pampanga. His father was a US serviceman at Clark Air Base, who abandoned him and his Filipina mother as soon as he was born. It was a hard life from thereon.
Amid life's uncertainties, music provided Allan a refuge and, eventually, salvation. His early music heroes include Stevie Wonder, Eagles, the Beatles and the home-grown folk music of Asin. He soon discovered hip-hop music, which led to his fascination with break dancing. Forming a break-dancing group, Allan went to the States where he became a familiar fixture in Los Angeles' hip-hop and break-dancing scene. The group he formed soon morphed into the Black Eyed Peas. Michael's father is a Filipino and his mother is of German-American descent. He was born in Chesapeake, Virginia, on November 13, 1982. He took up his secondary education at Deep Creek High School. His credentials include TV shows Scrubs, Reno 911!, That's So Raven and Even Stevens. Michael even appeared in movies like All You've Got, Elevator, and Sideliners. Cates was born Phoebe Belle Katz in New York City, New York, the daughter of Lily and director and producer Joseph Cates (originally "Joseph Katz"). Her uncle is producer/director Gilbert Cates and her stepfather was Marshall Naify, a horse breeder.
